Breathwork sessions in Melbourne and online
Conscious connected breathwork, in person across Melbourne or live online from anywhere in the world. No experience needed. You lie down, you breathe, I guide the rest.
— THE PROBLEM
Switching off is harder than it should be
You know you need to stop. You just can't find the off switch.
The mind keeps going after the laptop closes. Sleep is broken or shallow. You've tried meditation apps and they haven't held.
Breathwork works differently. Rather than asking you to observe your breath, it asks you to actively change it. That does something meditation doesn't.
— WHAT IT IS
What actually happens in a session
No mystery, no jargon. Here's the shape of it.
Arrive and settle
We talk briefly before beginning to discuss the process and anything you might wish to share.
The breathing begins
You lie down. I guide you through a continuous, connected breathing pattern with no pause between the inhale and the exhale. Music plays. You keep breathing.
Sensation
Tingling in the hands or face, temperature changes, heaviness or lightness in the body. Emotion sometimes surfaces. All of it is normal and I'll talk you through it as it happens.
Return
A slow return, time to rest, and a chance to talk if you want to.
— THE BENEFITS
What people take away
— A nervous system that resets more quickly after stress
— Sleep that goes deeper, reported by many people after regular practice
— Emotional weight that shifts when it's been sitting for a while
— Clearer thinking in the days afterwards
— A practical technique you can use on your own, without me in the room
Please note. Reported benefits vary from person to person. Breathwork is a wellbeing practice, not a medical treatment.
— FORMATS
IN PERSON
Across Melbourne
Being in a room with other people doing the same thing changes the experience. Most people find the group carries them further than they'd go alone.
ONLINE
Live, from your own space
Wherever you are in the world. Best if you're outside Melbourne, or if a room full of strangers feels like a bridge too far for a first session. Same practice, door shut.
— FAQ
Questions people ask
-
No. Most people at any given session are doing it for the first time. I explain everything as we go and you can stop at any point. -
No. Meditation asks you to observe your breath. Breathwork asks you to actively change it. A 2023 Stanford study found structured breathing improved mood and lowered physiological arousal more than mindfulness meditation over a month of daily five-minute practice.
-
Some people do. Some don't. Neither means it worked or didn't. If something comes up, I'm there, and nothing is required of you afterwards.
-
Comfortable clothes you can lie down in.
-
For most people, yes. Conscious connected breathwork isn't suitable for everyone. Please talk to me first, and check with your GP, if you have a cardiovascular condition, high or low blood pressure, epilepsy, glaucoma, a history of aneurysm, a psychiatric diagnosis, if you're pregnant, or if you're managing significant trauma. This is a wellbeing practice, not a treatment for any diagnosed condition.
